Ann C. Hoemberg - Office Manager

The Kelling CPA Ltd. team is made up of many dedicated and talented individuals. In our Employee Spotlight series, you'll meet some of these people, learn what they do (on and off the clock), and how they make Kelling CPA Ltd. unique and fun. Today, the spotlight is on Ann Hoemberg.

Current position with Kelling CPA Ltd.:
Office Manager, Administrative Coordinator, Human Resources and a little bit of everything.

What I like best about working for Kelling CPA Ltd.:
My coworkers and our clients. My work family is very personable yet professional, honest, dedicated and ethical. I will have my 30th anniversary with this firm in August, and I'm proud to be a member of this team. Our clients are the best! We get to know them very well, not only on a professional level, but also on a personal level.

Inhabitants at my residence:
My 23-year-old daughter, Tammy, who graduated with a four-year degree in chemistry from the University of Minnesota—Morris. She is working full-time as a Lab Technician.

Favorite vacation spot:
My favorite place to vacation is not a place or location, but rather anywhere I can be with family and/or friends. Most recently, it's Lawrence, Kansas, where my 26-year-old daughter, Katie is in a PhD program for clinical childhood psychology at the University of Kansas. Every October, I enjoy getting together with my elementary girlfriends for a girls weekend—I've been friends with most of these gals for over 50 years.

Motto or personal mantra:
Treat everyone the way you would like to be treated. Be happy and have a positive attitude and outlook on life. Keep smiling...no one likes a grump.

The top three highlights of my life:
-
My marriage of 25 years to my husband Don. Unfortunately, we lost him five years ago, after a long battle with cancer.
- The births of my two amazing daughters. Being a parent is a true blessing and joy.
- Being a grandma (AKA: Gramma) to my two little buddy boys (my stepdaughter Teshia's children) and the hope of many more grandchildren.

People would be surprised to know:
I'm actually quite shy. Many people think of me as very friendly, personable, happy and talkative—which I am, but I don't like a lot of attention on me.
